Horses on the Horizon

Almost everything is blue. Then the eye finds a narrow bar of land and, upon it, a few dark figures moving in file. The photograph refuses spectacle. It asks for patience, and rewards it with one clean fact: even at this distance, motion leaves a mark.

A thin line of land carries a scattering of horses across an expanse of blue water and pale sky. Distance does the heavy lifting here, turning movement into a barely spoken mark at the edge of the world.
