Flooded Silence

The picture opens on a white hush, then lets a thin line of posts falter into water. Bare trees gather beyond it, their reflections trembling like ink not yet dry. Nothing presses forward; the world simply loosens its grip, and the eye follows.

Water levels the field into a near-blank page. Trees gather at the edge, their reflections thinning into ink, while a broken fence slips diagonally into the flood like a sentence cut short.
